I’m planning monthly Zoom workshops for the next few months – along with the coffee klatches for the warmer months at some wonderful local coffee shops here in Chilliwack – and I wondered what topics interest you?
There are far too many choices for me to make on my own, so I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Also, if I had my way, we’d do these every week, but then the site would just be Zoom workshops as they take quite a bit of time to prepare for and clean up from…
I’ve had some interest in learning how to use pH meters – calibration, measuring, adjusting pH – so we can do that. We’ll make some products, then alter the pH and see what happens. We can also play with pH indicators so you can see how adding something tiny results in a big pH change.
🧼 I know there’s an interest in shampoo bars, so we can do that too. I was thinking March or April for that one?
🧴 We can do more cold process emulsifiers – we have so many from which to choose!
We could do one on oils and combining emollients, looking at what each oil is like – colour, viscosity, sensory characteristics – then look at how they alter a formula. Maybe make a quick lotion or four and see how they alter the skin feel, appearance, melting point, and so on?
What about making surfactant based products, like bubble bath, shampoo, body wash, or facial cleansers? We can make those, then I can show you how to thicken them with salt or Crothix?
Which of these would you like to see? And please suggest other topics as there’s just so many things we could cover!
What times of the week work for you? I’m choosing between 11 am and 1 pm on Sundays to try to get as many time zones as I can. I figure it’s a bit early for Australia and might be a bit late for Germany, but I can shift a little either way. I don’t know how to get India in as many parts are 12 hours ahead of me, so it’d have to be very early or very late here.
I could do the odd evening, but I’m pretty wrecked by about 5 to 6 pm, so I might be a bit too tired for that. (Plus, Tuesday night is all about D&D!).
Let me know what you think in the comments or message me at swiftcraftymonkey@swiftcraftymonkey.blog and share your thoughts! I’m really excited to see what you suggest!
