Honey powder (INCI: Honey & Maltodextrin) is spray-dried honey onto maltodextrin to create a powder. It works as a humectant, meaning it hydrates skin and can draw water from the atmosphere to increase that awesome hydrating action. It has a pH that ranges from pH 4 to 7, so it’s appropriate for skin and hair care products. The suggested usage rate is 1% to 10% in a liquid product or up to 100% in a powdered one
This ingredient consists of 45% to 50% honey and 50% to 55% maltodextrin. It’s soluble at 1% to 10% in warm water.
Keep this in a sealed container, ideally with a silica package, as it will draw water to itself. It has a shelf life of 1 year to 18 months.
