White tea extract

White tea extract can be found in a few versions – Organic White Tea Extract RS (INCI: Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract & Water & Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract) or Arbor White Tea Extract G (Glycerin) (INCI: Glycerin & Water & Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (+)), both of which are water soluble and used at 1% to 10% in the cool down phase.

You can find oil soluble Organic White Tea Extract (Sunflower Oil) (INCI: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil & Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract), which is a good substitute for part of your oil phase, but add it to the cool down.

These all work as powerful anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatories that may help to protect skin and hair against photo damage from the sun. They contain Catechins, which work as free radical scavengers of reactive oxygen species (ROS).

Please do not use tea you’ve made yourself in any formula as it can cause serious contamination in days. Click here for more on this topic!
