Wow, it’s February 2026? How quickly did January go by?
January was a busy month! I shared 35,196 words here on the site and 23,270 words in my latest e-book, Creating anhydrous products with infused oils (plus a bonus cream), for a total of 58,466 words. Holy cow!
And I’m able to play video games again, thanks to a lovely joystick Raymond got me, so I’m addicted to Animal Crossing again. I’ve been able to play with Lego again, so I present to you in the photo above – Goldie’s House! (She’s one of my favourites!) Hence the photo.
As always, you’ll find no ads, sponsored posts, pop ups, affiliate links, or anything like that and you will never ever ever ever find AI here in any form. We want you to have a seamless reading experience with nothing to distract you because that’s so annoying!
Let’s do a Zoom workshop on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at noon PST (Vancouver time) for our cold process emulsifiers, like Sepigel 305 and SEPILIFE™ NUDE!
It’s open to all Formulation and Innovation subscribers. There’ll be a handout with formulas and more! I’ll share the post with the information and handout later this week, so watch for that.
Please RSVP by posting here or by emailing me at swiftcraftymonkey@swiftcraftymonkey.blog.
We’re figuring out how you can pay to attend if you aren’t a subscriber or one at those levels, which we’ll share soon, but it will be cheaper and easier to be one of those two groups of subscribers.
Yes, we are likely to share the workshop afterwards to those subscriber levels. We think we’ve figured that out too. Yay!
What kind of formulas would you like to see? We could do a luscious body butter or a facial moisturizer with some interesting active or a gorgeous hand And body lotion. Or something else? I’m taking suggestions.
We’re definitely making a gorgeous hand and body lotion because I really need one right now!
Let me know in the comments what you think. Or you can email me at swiftcraftymonkey@swiftcraftymonkey.blog and share your thoughts!
What do we have planned for the month?
We’re continuing our cold process emulsifier series/course – check out the latest post here!
We’ll be working with Sepigel 305 and Sepiplus 400 for the rest of the month, then we’ll enjoy Jeequat® NDCS or Jeesperse® ICE-T CPCS for March.
You can see I’m planning on about six weeks per emulsifier as four was just not enough to really explore the awesome power of these great ingredients.
We’re continuing our Chemistry Thursday introduction to cosmetic chemistry series/course as well. (Find the last post here.) We’re finishing up the section on triglycerides and I’m not sure what to do next? I was thinking acids and bases or looking at specific ingredients, like panthenol, niacinamide, or allantoin?
What to you think? Share your thoughts in the comments or message me at swiftcraftymonkey@swiftcraftymonkey.blog and I’ll get writing those posts!
I’ll be continuing the series in which we’re looking at the cost of ingredients and I’ll share my updated spreadsheets shortly. I’m working on the UK at the moment, then New Zealand.
If you have some suppliers you’d like to add to the list, share the links in the comments or message me at swiftcraftymonkey@swiftcraftymonkey.blog and I’ll get writing those posts!
I hope to get a few more six ingredient emulsions and one ingredient, five formulas going too.
And I have a series I’ve written on the chemistry of emulsions that’s almost done.
There are so many new ingredients – and my oil profiles too. There’s a lot I want to share with you, and I’m really excited about all the things that are coming up!
Thanks so much for joining us for February 2026! We have so much fun in store for you!
Don’t forget to share your thoughts on products, new ingredients, and so much more by commenting in the comments section or messaging me! I get so much inspiration from you, my lovely readers.
